Fried Egg Coasters - Free Crochet Pattern

Created by: Crochet With Cookie

This time for my free crochet pattern, I am going to show you how to make these cute little fried egg coasters!

Now, what’s so awesome about this fried egg coaster pattern, is that, its not only one pattern… but actually it is four completely distinct fried egg coaster patterns! Just like in real life, every egg you crack never looks eggs-actly the same as the one before it, so therefore these coasters are all unique as well, just like the sunny-side-up eggs that inspired them!

This 4-in-1 pattern is super beginner friendly, using only 6 different stitches, and works up very quickly. You will be dying to make tons of these little cuties as gifts for all of your friends and family as soon as you are done a set for yourself!

Choosing Yarn for this Project:

Any cotton yarn will work great for this little project! I would strongly recommend using100% cotton yarnif you are intending on using these coasters for hot drinks, or especially hot pots, or anything like that. Cottonis an excellent choice for these purposes because it will withstand the heat (unlike polyester or acrylic yarns which have the potential to melt in high heats).

Gauge for this Crochet Pattern:

Gauge is not important for this pattern, since any hook you use should just simply match the yarn that you are using and the eggs will turn out to be a little bigger or a little smaller based on that! Not to worry though, regardless of the yarn or hook size - they will still turn out super cute :)

Other Materials Required:

- White or Off-White Bernat Handicrafter 100% Cotton Yarn (4) (any other 100% cotton yarn will work as well)

Yellow Bernat Handicrafter 100% Cotton Yarn (4) ( I used a slightly different cotton yarn here because I really liked this color for the egg yolks when I found it! This one is from Dollarama.)

Tapestry Needle

4.00 mm Crochet Hook

Scissors

Stitches/Abbreviations (US Terms):

(Click any link to be taken to an instructional Youtube Video )

- Ch - Chain Stitch

- Sc - Single Crochet

- Hdc - Half-Double Crochet

- Dc - Double Crochet

- Tr - Treble (triple) Crochet

- Sl St - Slip Stitch

- Yo - Yarn Over

- Sk - Skip Stitch

Notes:

All four of the coasters begin with the exact same stitches for the first three rows. Please note, that the patterns for each fried egg coaster begin to diverge all in row four, and then differ completely from that point on. Also, please note that some of the fried egg coasters have five rows, but some have six rows.
